The suspect who made a false robbery call to 15 people has been arrested in an operation by the Lari Adda police.
According to details, the caller Ismail told the police over the phone that two robbers came on a motorcycle and escaped after snatching Rs. 531,500 at gunpoint.
On the instructions of the SP City, the Lorry Adda Police responded immediately to the call and when the crime scene could not be confirmed, the Safe City cameras were checked.
SP City Bilal Ahmed said that during the interrogation, the accused could not evade the police for long. The accused wanted to embezzle his employer's money, so he made a fake call. The police interrogation exposed the lies of the accused Ismail.
The misappropriated cash of Rs 510,000 was also recovered from the accused. The accused had hidden the money in the locker of the shop where he worked. The caller, acting dishonestly, had withdrawn Rs 21,000 from the money to pay his debt.
The Lari Adda police have arrested the caller and registered a case. The team including SHO Irfan and ASI Salman were commended for their timely response and proper investigation on the spot.
