Security forces foiled a terrorist attack on the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan after a vigorous operation.


During the attack, gunfire and explosions were heard. During this time, the forces foiled the terrorists' plans and killed 5 attackers, including a suicide bomber.


During the counter-attack, 7 brave police officers were martyred.

According to police officials, the operation was completed late at night in which the police and other security agencies jointly participated. The terrorists attacked at around 8:30 pm, however, the forces took immediate counter-action and surrounded them within the confines of the training school.


According to the DG Public Relations Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 200 police recruits and personnel present in the training school at the time of the attack were safely evacuated. During the operation, all blocks of the NADRA office and the school were declared cleared.


Hospital sources have confirmed that 13 injured personnel have been shifted to the trauma center of DHQ Hospital, where they are being provided medical assistance.


Interior Minister expresses condolences

On the other hand, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the attack by Khawarij terrorists on the Police Training Center. He has paid tribute to the seven police personnel who lost their lives while fighting the terrorists and expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families.


He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured personnel.


Mohsin Naqvi said that the police personnel sacrificed their lives to thwart the attack of the Khawarji terrorists. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has made immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism. The nation salutes the brave sons of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
