The cabin crew took immediate action and brought the flames under control using a fire extinguisher.

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Chennai had to make an emergency landing in Hyderabad after a power bank caught fire during a flight in India. The plane was flying at an altitude of 35,000 feet at the time of the incident.
According to aviation sources, a fire suddenly broke out from a power bank placed in a passenger's overhead compartment on IndiGo flight 6E6115, causing an emergency on the plane.
The cabin crew took immediate action and controlled the flames with the help of a fire extinguisher, however, out of concern for the safety of the passengers, the pilots diverted the plane to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.
After the plane landed safely, it was grounded, while arrangements were made to transport the passengers to their destination in Chennai via an alternative plane.
According to aviation sources, lithium-ion batteries used in power banks can catch fire if they overheat or malfunction.
In view of this risk, it is preferable to keep a power bank in hand luggage during air travel, so that the crew can take immediate action in an emergency.
