A new report has revealed that Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has informed employees with poor performance that they will be fired.
According to a foreign news agency, in an internal memo, Mark Zuckerberg told his staff that he had decided to raise performance standards by firing underperforming employees.
The memo further stated that Zuckerberg said that the company usually manages out (i.e. gives people to do tasks that would otherwise result in dismissal) those whose performance does not meet expectations within a year, but this time there is a possibility of being fired based on performance soon.
Meta has said it will cut jobs by the same amount as 2024 this time, but its goal is to achieve 10% of the current performance cycle, which means that about five percent of current employees will lose their jobs this time.
Mark Zuckerberg said that Meta will provide severance pay to employees.
