South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol was arrested for attempting to impose martial law.

On Wednesday morning, hundreds of security personnel and investigators scaled the walls and entered the presidential residence. The president's supporters were also present at the event. The South Korean parliament has also overwhelmingly approved the impeachment motion of the president.

According to reports, there was also a clash between security forces and supporters of President Yun at the gate of the presidential residence. Members of the president's party also shouted slogans against the illegal warrant.

South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol imposed martial law on December 3 last year. In a live televised address to the nation, he said the move was to protect the country from communist forces. After strong opposition from the opposition and public protests, the president had to issue an order to end martial law within hours. The South Korean parliament also voted against the imposition of martial law.
