Due to heavy fog in Punjab, various sections of the motorway have been closed to all types of traffic.

Motorway Police Spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed said that due to the severity of fog on various motorways between Lahore, Multan and other major cities, motorways have been closed to ensure safe traffic flow.

According to details, Lahore to Kot Momin (M2), Lahore to Multan (M3), Pindi Bhattian to Multan (M4), Multan to Tarnada Muhammad Panah (M5) and Lahore to Sialkot (M11) motorways have been completely closed due to heavy fog.

There is also a situation of severe fog on national highways as far as Thokar, Pattoki, Okara and Sahiwal, due to which drivers are facing difficulties.

A Motorway Police spokesperson said that these precautionary measures are aimed at ensuring public safety and safe travel, as lane violations in fog can cause accidents. Drivers have been requested to ensure lane discipline in fog and travel during daylight hours as much as possible.

He added that the best times to travel during foggy weather are from 10 am to 6 pm. Drivers have been instructed to use front and rear fog lights, avoid high speeds, and maintain a reasonable distance from the vehicle in front.

Motorway Police have requested the public to avoid unnecessary travel and to contact helpline 130 immediately if necessary.
