Continuous poor performances and defeats have increased differences between Indian team captain Rohit and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

According to media reports, news of differences between Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir has become common in the dressing room.

However, Cricket Board Vice President Rajiv Shukla has denied reports of differences, although some reports have claimed that the Indian dressing room was divided after losing the series to Australia.

Rajiv Shukla is dismissing reports of differences among the team's seniors as mere rumors with the Champions Trophy event looming, however, India's own media is spreading negative news of infighting within the team.

Rohit decided to sit out the Sydney Test, after which news of his differences with the head coach came to light.

Meanwhile, the Indian team's defeats have forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reintroduce old rules. Looking at the performance, top officials of the board have indicated strict action on the issue of taking families on tour.

The option for cricketers not to take their families with them on overseas tours was taken after a BCCI meeting in Mumbai, which was attended by selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma, along with other board members.

Board officials believe that having wives and family members stay with players during the tour affects their performance. Under the new rules, a player's wife and family can now stay for only 14 days during a 45-day overseas tour, while this stay will be reduced to just 7 days during short series and tours.
