The Spanish parliament has approved a complete ban on arms sales to Israel, which is being described as a historic and bold move against the ongoing Israeli operations in Gaza.
According to a foreign news agency, 178 votes were cast in favor of the bill presented in parliament, while 169 votes were cast against it. After approval, Spain will no longer export or import any type of defense equipment, products, or military technology to Israel.
In its resolution, the Parliament also called on the European Union and the United Nations to play an effective role in achieving an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to consider imposing joint economic and defense sanctions against Israel.

Analysts say the decision is part of a growing global response to the rising Palestinian death toll in Gaza and Israeli aggression around the world. Spain has become the first European country to pass a formal parliamentary ban of this kind.
