Joe Biden calls Gaza ceasefire agreement the result of excellent US diplomacy

US President Joe Biden has described the Gaza ceasefire agreement as the result of America’s best diplomacy, saying that the agreement is a significant step forward for peace and the provision of humanitarian aid in the region.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani announced in the Qatari capital, Doha, that a Gaza ceasefire agreement had been reached through the joint efforts of Qatar, Egypt and the United States.

US President Joe Biden says the ceasefire will take effect on January 19, and the implementation of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel under this agreement is ongoing.

On this occasion, US President Biden expressed satisfaction in his statement, saying that he was happy that the hostages between Israel and Hamas would be released under the agreement.

He added that this agreement is the result of America's continued and tireless diplomacy, which will not only help stop the fighting in Gaza but also provide essential humanitarian assistance to Palestinian citizens.

The Gaza ceasefire agreement consists of three phases. In the first phase, Israeli forces will be limited to 700 meters inside the Gaza border, while Israel will release approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 250 lifers.

President Biden said the agreement would allow the hostages to be reunited with their families after more than 15 months and would reduce tensions in the region.
