A doctor in the UK who performed unsafe circumcisions on children has been sentenced to 5 years and 7 months in prison. He will also be supervised for another 5 years after completing his sentence.

According to British media, Dr. Muhammad Siddiqui, 58, of Birmingham's University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, was sentenced.

In court, Dr. Muhammad Siddiqui confessed to 25 crimes.

Dr. Muhammad Siddiqui was accused of going to on-call homes to perform circumcisions on children in order to earn more money.

However, in serious violation of health regulations, they were unable to make protective arrangements that are essential for the health of children.

Of the children circumcised by the doctor at their homes, one narrowly escaped death, while dozens suffered severe pain and infection.

In 2015, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service revoked the registration of Dr. Muhammad Siddiqui's General Medical Council because he had circumcised four children in their homes, in serious violation of hygiene rules.

Despite this, Dr. Siddiqui continued to perform these operations and continued to perform services in various cities in the United States under the name of mobile clinics for 300 pounds per circumcision.
