A citizen who left a job worth 1.4 million to study in Canada regrets it.

Dev Mitra, an Indian entrepreneur based in Canada, recently spoke openly about his struggles as a student in a foreign land in a podcast.

Dev Mitra is the founder and managing partner of a Canadian-based business management consultancy. During a podcast, he talked about his life in Canada, where he has been living for the past six years.

He revealed that he had left a Rs 1.4 million per year corporate job in his country to pursue his education and took up a job as a waiter to sustain himself abroad.

He added that the sad reality of those studying abroad is that they have to balance work and studies while missing their family at home.

He told the podcast host that when he was a student here (in Canada), struggle, sacrifice, and low-income jobs were his daily life.

"No one tells you how lonely and exhausting it is to balance work and studies while missing your family back home," he said.

Dev Mitra said that Indian students face many difficulties while working and studying in Canada. Moreover, Indians in the country also face an unsafe environment and racial discrimination in Canada.
