Islamabad:

The Senate session was adjourned indefinitely due to the closure of roads in the Twin Cities and the absence of members.

The Senate meeting was held under the chairmanship of Presiding Officer Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, in which the question and answer period was suspended. The Presiding Officer said that there was a shortage of time and all members wanted to discuss the topic of floods.

The Pakistan Peoples Party members were absent from the meeting, while they had not attended the Senate meeting the previous day. During this, Senator Saifullah Abro pointed out the quorum, upon which the Presiding Officer Manzoor Ahmed Kakar directed that a counting be conducted.

The presiding officer announced that the quorum in the House was not complete and ordered the bells to be rung for 5 minutes.

Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar told the meeting that roads were blocked due to the activities of a religious group in Islamabad, due to which most of the members could not reach the meeting.

Meanwhile, PPP Senator Salim Mandiwala arrived at the meeting, but despite this, the quorum could not be met in the Senate meeting and eventually the Senate meeting was adjourned indefinitely.
