Islamabad:
The Islamabad High Court rejected the bail application of the accused arrested in the blasphemy case.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, while hearing the bail application of accused Hassan Abid, directed the trial court to complete the trial of the case within two months and dismissed the application.
Lawyer Hadi Ali Advocate took the position that this court had ordered the DGNCCIA to produce all the witnesses on October 8, however, despite the court order, some witnesses did not appear.
The lawyer said that arrest warrants have been issued by the trial court for the non-appearance of witnesses, the cross-examination of the witnesses who came to the court has been completed, the challan has not been submitted in the Zaeem Zulfiqar case, and the investigating officer is also not appearing. To which lawyer Adil Aziz Qazi told the court that the investigating officer has been present at both the hearings.
The court inquired as to how long the petitioner had been under arrest, to which lawyer Hadi Ali told the court that the petitioner had been in custody for one year and seven months.
The High Court rejected the bail application, directing the trial court to complete the hearing and submit a report within two months .
