Gaza:
Israeli forces deployed in Gaza have begun a gradual withdrawal process, which was witnessed on Thursday morning when personnel at a military camp were seen packing their belongings.
Video released by Israeli media shows soldiers evacuating the camp.
The development comes hours after US President Donald Trump announced a proposed ceasefire and hostage swap deal, with Israeli forces beginning to withdraw from some areas of Gaza.
In the initial phase, Israeli forces' logistics units have been withdrawn from the outskirts of Gaza City.
These are the same units that have been part of the ground operations for the past several weeks. According to military officials, combat units will also be withdrawn in phases in the next phase.
Meanwhile, Israeli media, citing internal sources, have claimed that Hamas could once again assume administrative control of major urban areas of Gaza in the next few days, which could take the political and military situation in the region to a new level.
