The Lahore High Court’s Election Tribunal dismissed the petition against the successful PML-N candidate from PP-51 Sialkot.
Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmed, as the Election Tribunal, heard the petition to declare the notification of a PML-N candidate null and void. Advocate Imran Chadhar appeared on behalf of the successful PML-N candidate Mian Zeeshan Rafique.
The Election Tribunal delivered a reserved verdict.
The petitioner's position was that the candidate declared successful received 35,000 votes while the petitioner received more than 50,000 votes. The Returning Officer colluded to change the results, so the tribunal should declare the notification of success issued by the Election Commission null and void.
Lawyer League candidate Imran Chadhar said in his arguments that the petitioner does not have any proof of victory, and the hearing on the petition cannot proceed without evidence. It is requested that the tribunal declare the petition inadmissible and dismiss it.
