Clashes between the Israeli army and Palestinian resistance forces continue in Gaza despite the announcement of a peace agreement. According to Israeli media, one Israeli soldier was killed in the latest clash.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Sergeant First Class Michael Mordechai Nachmani, 26, was killed by a sniper's bullet in northern Gaza. The soldier who died was from the 614th Battalion of the Combat Engineering Corps. The military said search operations were continuing in the western Gaza Strip.
According to IDF figures, 914 Israeli soldiers have been killed since October 7, 2023. On the other hand, according to foreign sources, the first phase of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has been signed, while the formal peace agreement will be completed with the signing of US President Donald Trump's arrival in Egypt.
Under the agreement, Hamas will release Israeli hostages, while Israel will release all imprisoned women and children. The withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the reopening of the Rafah crossing are also part of the agreement.
