Syria's interim president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, has said that security talks with Israel are inevitable and that the results could be revealed in the next few days.

According to the international news agency, the Syrian president made it clear that any possible agreement with Israel would necessarily include respect for Syria's airspace and territorial integrity, as well as UN supervision.

Speaking to reporters, the Syrian president added that the recent talks between Syria and Israel are mainly aimed at restoring the 1974 security agreement.

The Syrian interim president added that Syria is seeking an agreement that resembles the 1974 agreement, but there will be no talks on the currently Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which Israel illegally annexed in 1981.

He also revealed that a security agreement between the two countries was just four to five days away before the clashes in Al-Suwayda in July.

It should be noted that the United States had indicated its willingness to play a mediator role in the new Syrian government's negotiations with Israel.

However, Ahmed al-Sharaa said that the US has not put any pressure on Syria to negotiate with Israel, but has only played the role of a facilitator.

It should be noted that Israel has also hit military targets in Syria in recent months, including the bombing of the Ministry of Defense in Damascus in July.

At the same time, Israel also backed Druze militias in Al-Suwayda, which intensified fighting between Syrian forces and local tribes.

To which Ahmed al-Sharaa further said that Israel has carried out more than 1,000 airstrikes and more than 400 ground operations in Syria since December, which is extremely dangerous.

Meanwhile, Israeli media claimed that in negotiations with Syria, Israel has demanded the creation of a demilitarized zone and a no-fly zone in southwestern Syria.

In exchange, Israel is willing to leave the Syrian land it seized after December, but Israel also insists on maintaining its military outpost on the top of Jabal al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon).

It should be remembered that 9 months ago, armed groups led by Ahmed al-Sharaa ended Bashar al-Assad's long rule in Syria, forcing him to flee to Russia.

After the coup, an interim government was established in the country, headed by Ahmed al-Sharaa, and this government also has the support of Saudi Arabia, the United States, and other countries.
