The Islamabad High Court has granted permission to senior lawyer Latif Khosa to travel abroad.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani heard Latif Khosa's petition to remove his name from the ECL. Advocate Sardar Latif Khosa appeared in the court.
The public prosecutor said that the name is on the ECL and a case has been registered. The court inquired whether the challan has been submitted? The public prosecutor said that the challan has not been submitted yet.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that this is a violation of Section 144. What is 7 ATA? Should they be arrested? DSP Legal replied that they should not be arrested, but I will ask.
The court remarked that how many papers of 188 have been given so far, it must be in thousands, have all their names been put on the ECL, please explain one thing so that their names are put on the ECL, will they run away and not return?
While questioning the public prosecutor, the court asked him to answer these questions as to why the trial court would stop the proceedings.
Latif Khosa said that there was a flight for five but they did not let him go, now he has to go to Canada tomorrow.
The court directed Latif Khosa to give an affidavit in the trial court stating that he would appear in court when summoned. The High Court adjourned the hearing with instructions, allowing Latif Khosa to go abroad.
It should be noted that a case has been registered against Latif Khosa at the Secretariat Police Station for protesting outside the Supreme Court.
