Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife by a man at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, on Thursday night, and police are questioning a suspect for the investigation.
According to police, the incident took place at 2 am when a man allegedly entered his apartment with the intention of stealing. Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times during the attack, after which he was immediately shifted to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors have declared his condition out of danger.
During the surgery, doctors removed a 2.5-inch long knife from Saif's spine and repaired the spinal fluid damage. The actor is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.
Police obtained CCTV footage of the apartment after the attack, which showed a man wearing a brown collared T-shirt and a red scarf walking down the building's stairs.
The attacker also demanded Rs 10 million from the actor during the robbery, however, no evidence of any force or vandalism was found in his apartment.
The police are investigating the incident and today Mumbai Police brought a person to Bandra police station for questioning on suspicion, but no one has been arrested so far.
