Technology company Microsoft has warned its millions of users that they could be vulnerable to cyber attacks if they do not update their computers by next week.
Microsoft is set to end support for Windows 10 on October 14, a decade after its launch. This means that the operating system will no longer be protected from online threats.
Microsoft executive Youssef Mahdi said in a blog post that the company will no longer provide security and feature updates and technical support for Windows 10 computers.
They said that these devices will continue to function, but they will not be given regular security updates, which will increase the risk of cyber attacks.
According to the latest data from StatCounter Global Status, more than 40 percent of all Windows users are using an outdated operating system.
Yousef Mehdi said that applications running on Windows 10 will no longer receive support, which is why they will not receive feature updates. As a result, some apps may stop working.
