A security forces convoy was blown up in a bomb blast, killing 4 personnel.

Seven defendants were hanged in two separate cases in Iran today.

According to the Iranian judiciary news agency Mizan, six defendants were hanged in the city of Khorram in Khuzestan province.

The suspects were accused of attacking security personnel, in which four officers were killed.

The seventh, Saman Mohammadi Khayyar, was a Kurd who was convicted of the 2009 murder of pro-government Sunni scholar Mamosta Sheikh al-Islam in the city of Sanandaj, Kurdistan.

Meezan further claimed that these individuals had ties to Israel, but human rights groups express serious doubts about this allegation.

They say the government often tries to portray rebellions or protests in minority areas as “foreign interference.”

It should be noted that Iran has executed more than 1,000 people so far this year, most of whom were accused of being Israeli spies.

An investigation conducted after the deaths of several top military commanders and nuclear scientists in an Israeli attack on Iran found several citizens to be spies.

These Iranian citizens were sentenced to death, accused of providing secret and sensitive information to Israel.

It should be remembered that more than 950 people were executed in Iran last year, while more than 850 people were executed in 2023.

Iran is the country with the highest number of executions in the world, along with Saudi Arabia and China.
