The Sindh government has decided to auction idle vehicles within a month and purchase EV vehicles for government employees in Karachi.


An important meeting of the Sindh Cabinet Sub-Committee on Austerity, chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, was held in Karachi, in which provincial ministers Saeed Ghani, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Ali Hassan Zardari and secretaries of various departments participated.

In the meeting, the committee members directed to follow clear guidelines to regulate the allotment of government vehicles. On this occasion, secretaries of various departments presented 10-year records related to government vehicles.

Sharjeel Inam Memon, while speaking at the meeting, said that the auction process should be completed within a month so that resources are not wasted and the need for new vehicles can be met. Purchasing EV vehicles will benefit the government, save POL, and make their auction easier.

He said that the government is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of public resources. Those who are using government vehicles without authorization are strictly asked to return the vehicles as per government orders.

The senior provincial minister said that work is also underway on the auction of idle vehicles, the auction will be conducted with complete transparency. All concerned officials and departments should follow the new instructions to avoid legal action.

Saeed Ghani said that timely auctioning of idle vehicles is very important, as it will reduce unnecessary expenses. Departments that have excess vehicles should return their excess vehicles to the government.

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar said that work is being done quickly to identify idle vehicles and ensure compliance with government policies. Our goal is to save the public's money and ensure spending according to needs.
