The famous Bollywood film Karan Arjun completed 30 years of its release on January 13, 2025. On this occasion, director Rakesh Roshan made interesting revelations about the making of the film and the stories behind it.
Rakesh Roshan said that no one believed Karan Arjun's story, even the film's lead actor Shah Rukh Khan was not satisfied.
He said, "Shah Rukh couldn't understand this story till the end. He said, 'Rakesh ji, you tell me what to do, but I'm not convinced.'"
Karan Arjun, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan star as brothers who are reborn after being murdered and seek revenge for their murder. The film stars Rakhi Gulzar as a mother who is convinced that her sons will return.
Rakesh Roshan said that all the actors and technicians were against the story. "Everyone said, 'Don't make this film, it won't work.' But they believed and it worked."
Salman Khan was the only actor who believed in the story. Roshan said, "Salman hugged me during the preview show and said, 'You have made a superhit film.'" Salman's father, famous screenwriter Salim Khan, also praised the film and predicted it to be a huge success.
Rakesh Roshan revealed that initially the role of Karan was given to Ajay Devgn, but Ajay and Shah Rukh switched roles. However, Roshan said that he could not imagine Shah Rukh as Karan and Ajay as Arjun, after which Ajay left the film and the role was given to Salman Khan.
Rakesh Roshan further said that the success of the film was a surprise for him. He said, "I had no idea that this film would be such a big hit, but everyone appreciated my belief."
