Mumbai: Police have obtained CCTV footage of the attacker after Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at his home in Bandra.
The footage is from 2:33 a.m. on Thursday, in which the attacker can be seen on the steps of the actor's apartment.
CCTV footage shows the attacker wearing a T-shirt, jeans and an orange cloth over his shoulder. He can be seen walking down the stairs and looking at the camera.
According to police, the attacker first scaled the back wall of the building, then climbed up the back stairs and entered the apartment through the fire exit.
A maid working in Saif Ali Khan's house, Elia Ma Phillips, also known as Lima, was the first to see the attacker and screamed to warn everyone.
The actor bravely confronted the attacker, but the attacker stabbed him six times, one of which lodged in his spine.
Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his son Ibrahim. According to the hospital's Dr. Nitin Dange, the actor's condition is now stable.
"We have removed the knife through emergency surgery and repaired the spinal fluid leak. Deep wounds on his left hand and neck have been treated," he said.
The police have registered an FIR into the incident, which includes charges of robbery, illegal entry, and grievous hurt. Police say that investigations are ongoing and the attacker will be arrested soon.
