In response to Trump's threat to take control of Greenland, Denmark changed its royal coat of arms to include a polar bear.

The polar bear is the representative of the semi-autonomous Danish-controlled Greenland. The strategic importance of the world's largest island has increased with the melting of the Arctic glaciers. Its 58,000 population is seeking independence from Denmark.

However, Greenland Prime Minister Mute Borup responded to Trump's statement by saying, "Greenland is ours, it is not for sale, and it never will be."

Meanwhile, Denmark called Trump's statement "nonsense" and defended the cross even more strongly, while the King of Denmark changed the 500-year-old royal coat of arms, which previously had three crowns, replacing two of them with a polar bear and a bull. The bull is the symbol of the Faroe Islands, which are controlled by Denmark.

This change is a clear message to Denmark's sole superpower to stop dreaming of acquiring Greenland.

It should be noted that the American establishment has wanted to buy Greenland for strategic purposes and natural resources for the past century. In 1946, the United States tried to buy the island from Denmark for $100 million, but failed.
