It has been decided to close the website of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and launch a mobile app.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said in a statement that NADRA's Pak ID website will be closed and all services will be provided on the mobile app. Fraudulent elements were doing business in helping to make identity documents through fake websites. They were trying to get the personal information of citizens and misuse it. NADRA's website will be closed from tomorrow, January 17.

The Interior Minister further said that citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, faced difficulties in using the website. There was difficulty in scanning and uploading fingerprints and required documents. The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken strict notice of the fraudulent elements. NADRA, along with other agencies, is ensuring action against these elements.

The Interior Minister said that NADRA's mobile app has been improved a lot. All services including CNIC, NAICOP, POC, B Form, FRC are available on the mobile app. Citizens can complete all the procedures for identity documents on the mobile app while sitting at home.

According to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, 3 new regional centers of NADRA will also be established. The new regional centers will be set up in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar and Gilgit-Baltistan. The new regional offices of NADRA will start functioning from March 31. The establishment of these offices will facilitate communication between NADRA officials and citizens and improve the provision of services in NADRA centers in remote areas. The problems of citizens will be resolved quickly and complaints will be redressed immediately.

He said that NADRA offices were yet to be established in only 19 tehsils across the country. Work in this regard is progressing rapidly, NADRA offices will also be functional in these tehsils by March 31.
