A gang working in homes in Punjab stole 80 tolas of gold.
According to a Safe Cities spokesperson, a complaint was filed against a domestic worker in Gujranwala on Emergency Helpline 15 for stealing 80 tolas of gold. As soon as the complaint was received, a search was started for the accused with the help of Safe Cities cameras. The accused were seen in the cameras going in a rickshaw.
According to initial investigation, 3 women escaped in a rickshaw along with the remaining 2 members of the gang. The three women and 2 men were also seen in the video escaping in a rickshaw. The virtual patrolling officer of Safe City Gujranwala provided all the evidence to the concerned police. The police arrested the gang after a search. Further legal action is underway against the accused.
Spokesperson Safe Cities says that citizens should thoroughly vet and check police records when hiring domestic workers.
