Lahore:
Motorway police have closed various sections of the motorway to traffic due to heavy fog and zero visibility.
According to Motorway Police Spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, Motorway M4 from Abdul Hakeem to Multan and M5 from Multan to Rohri have been closed due to fog.
The spokesperson said that motorways are closed to ensure public safety and safe travel, as lane violations in fog increase the risk of accidents.
The spokesperson appealed to road users to maintain lane discipline during fog and travel during daylight hours as much as possible. He said that the best travel times during foggy weather are between 10 am and 6 pm.
The Motorway Police spokesperson added that drivers should use front and rear fog lights in their vehicles to be better visible to other vehicles.
Motorway police have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, avoid speeding, and maintain a reasonable distance from the vehicle in front.
The Motorway Police spokesperson further said that citizens can contact the Motorway Police helpline 130 for further information or assistance.
